Subang, 18 January 2026 — Students from the Master of Public Administration (MAP) programme at the Postgraduate School of Djuanda University (UNIDA) conducted a study visit to Lembur Pakuan as part of strengthening field learning related to leadership and governance practices. The activity was attended by MAP students, accompanied by the Head of the Master of Public Administration Programme at UNIDA, Dr. Muhamad Husein Maruapey, M.Sc, and MAP Lecturer, Dr. Saprudin, M.Si.
This visit served as an academic dialogue forum to directly observe leadership approaches and decision-making strategies in government administration. Through this activity, students gained empirical perspectives on how regional leaders build policy orchestration, cross-sector coordination, and the effectiveness and efficiency of government operations.
In his speech, Dr. Muhamad Husein Maruapey, M.Sc said that the presence of MAP students in Lembur Pakuan was intended to deepen their understanding of Public Administration Theory in practice, especially in relation to Leadership Theory, which is one of several public administration theories. Husein further stated that KDM's leadership style in orchestrating the administration of West Java Province was effective and efficient. According to him, field experiences such as this are important to enrich students' competencies, particularly in analysing public leadership, policy formulation, and modern government management practices.
Meanwhile, in his speech, KDM emphasised that Indonesia's future leadership requires leaders who not only master administration and technocracy, but also possess intuition, consistency, and courage in decision-making. KDM stressed that decisiveness and consistency in implementing decisions are key to building a responsive, focused government that is capable of meeting the real needs of the people.
This study visit took place in an interactive atmosphere, accompanied by discussion and question-and-answer sessions that provided space for students to explore perspectives, experiences, and leadership values relevant to the challenges of governance in Indonesia. Through these discussions, students were expected to be able to draw strategic lessons that could be contextualised in their studies, research, and capacity building as future leaders and public policy analysts.
The UNIDA Master of Public Administration Study Programme affirms its commitment to continuing to provide learning that integrates theory and practice through academic activities in the field. This study visit is expected to strengthen students' insights into public leadership and government management, while also being part of efforts to improve the quality of MAP graduates who are adaptive and ready to contribute to competitive governance.
