The visit to the UiTM Library focused on introducing a modern digital-based library management system, access to reputable international journals, the development of a digital repository, and strategies for strengthening a culture of literacy and research in higher education. The UNIDA delegation also gained insights into the integration of library services with the research needs of postgraduate students, particularly in thesis writing, dissertations, and scientific publications.
The participation of UNIDA Postgraduate Program in this agenda is a strategic step in supporting academic quality improvement, especially in building a strong and international standard research ecosystem. This activity also opens up opportunities for cooperation in the field of digital learning resource management, exchange of best practices in academic library services, and strengthening cross-border research support.
Dr Lina Herlina said that this visit provided a new perspective for the development of academic services at UNIDA Postgraduate.
University libraries are no longer just places for storing books, but centres for digital research ecosystems. The experience at UiTM is very useful for strengthening a culture of scientific literacy, especially for master's students, so that they are better prepared to produce reputable academic work,’ she said.
Through this activity, Universitas Djuanda reaffirmed its commitment to continue expanding international academic collaboration and enhancing the quality of higher education’s three pillars through strengthening literacy, research, and innovation based on global networks.
