UNIDA Postgraduate School Strengthens Global Academic Network at UiTM Melaka Malaysia

Melaka, Malaysia – 28 January 2026 Universitas Djuanda (UNIDA) continues to expand its international network through active participation in the ASEAN Academic Issues Seminar held at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Melaka, Malaysia, on Wednesday (28/1). This event is part of a series of international programmes with the ASEAN Academic Association (ASEANACA) Batch 6, which aims to strengthen academic collaboration, research, and innovation among universities in the Southeast Asian region.

The seminar brought together academics, researchers, and university leaders from various ASEAN countries to discuss strategic issues in higher education, including curriculum internationalisation, research commercialisation, learning innovation, and strengthening global partnerships based on industry and community needs.

The Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs at Djuanda University, Dr Aal Lukmanul Hakim, S.H., M.H., emphasised that UNIDA's participation in this ASEAN academic forum is an important part of the institution's quality improvement strategy.

This activity is a concrete step taken by Djuanda University to strengthen global recognition and collaboration. Cross-border academic meetings such as this are very important for improving the quality of learning, collaborative research, and the competitiveness of graduates at the international level,’ he said.

He added that this forum also opens up opportunities for concrete cooperation in the form of joint research, lecturer and student exchanges, and the development of joint academic programmes.

Prof. Dr. Hj. Endeh Suhartini, S.H., M.H., Director of the Djuanda University Postgraduate School, said that the UNIDA Postgraduate School's activities at UiTM Melaka are an important step in strengthening global academic networks. According to her, international collaborations such as this open up opportunities for knowledge exchange, strengthening research quality, and developing international standard learning, which will have a direct impact on improving the quality of postgraduate graduates.

On the same occasion, Dr. Lina Herlina, S.Hum., M.Pd, as Head of the Islamic Education Management Master's Programme and representative of the UNIDA Graduate School, stated that this ASEAN forum provides a new perspective on the development of higher education governance based on regional collaboration.

Academic meetings at the ASEAN level show that higher education management in the future must be adaptive, collaborative, and impact-based. This is in line with the spirit of the UNIDA Graduate School to provide education that is not only academically excellent but also relevant to the needs of society and the world of work,’ he explained.

He added that discussions with ASEAN universities open up opportunities for research integration, curriculum innovation, and strengthening academic leadership across countries.

Participation in this ASEAN Academic Issues Seminar has strategic relevance to all study programmes at the Djuanda University Postgraduate School:

Master of Islamic Education Management

Strengthening insights into global-based Islamic education management, educational leadership, and international collaboration in curriculum development and educational research.

1. Master of Law

Providing perspectives on the harmonisation of higher education regulations, international law, and cross-border academic policies in the ASEAN region.

2. Master of Public Administration

Relevant in the study of higher education governance as part of public service, regional education policy, and academic diplomacy.

3. Master of Food Technology (Halal Food)

Opening opportunities for halal food innovation research collaboration, product standardisation, and strengthening halal industry networks at the ASEAN level.

4. Master of Primary Education

Providing inspiration for the development of an adaptive primary education system. towards global challenges, especially in learning innovation and character building.

5. Master of Management

Related to the management of educational institutions as modern organisations based on strategy, innovation, and global partnerships

6. Doctoral Programme in Law

Relevant in the study of higher education policy, international institutional law, and cross-border academic collaboration regulations.
